Default having some problems

well tonight i was riding home from my g/f's house and i noticed that when i drop a gear and get into higher RPM's my car sputters. My check engine light came on maybe a week ago and it's cuz one of the O2 sensors went bad, could this be the problem?? it's also been raining all day and i have a vented hood so maybe water got somewhere it shouldn't have, i haven't had that problem in the year or so that i've had that hood though. I drive a 99 SOHC civic BTW

As fas as I know a bad o2 sensor will put your car in safe mode, or limp mode wutever your familiar with. This mode only allows you to rev to a certain point. I hope this would help. Also if you knew the o2 sensor was bad you should replace it right away, but thats just my opinion.

yea it sounds like ur O2 sensor is making it do that. But like he said ^^ if it went bad you should have replaced it that day or at least the day after. I wouldnt really be driving around with it like that esp for a week or so

A bad sensor can make all kinds of wierd things happen, and you already said it's bad, so replace it..
