h23 ecu problems
If you use any ECU other than the stock H23 ECU (or if you want to any tuning with Hondata, etc), you'll need to have the ECU chipped. The best bet for a simple swap is the H23 ECU, and you can get a P28 or something later if you need to get tuned. The H22/H23 ECUs are bastard stepchildren and the programs haven't been hacked like the B and D series ECUs, in case you have a question mark hovering over your head.. That's why you need to use a different ECU to tune with..
I have a chipped P28 for $200 or a chipped P05 that has been converted to a P28 for $175. Both have datalogging capabilities and I can add IAB support to either one. Either will work for your application unless you need or want the knock board. I have a tune that will run the car also.
