H22 swap help!!
My brother is doing a h22 swap to his '95 prelude...the previous engine was the 2.3L non vtec. the new engine came out of an '01 prelude and is the h22 vtec. he has all of the wiring from the h22 except the ecu...and his car was wired from the factory to have a vtec.(according to what i read on superhonda). i went to superhonda and printed out some stuff on the swap, but still have a few questions.
1)does he need to change the ecu?
2)does he need to swap out the wiring harnesses on the engines?
**and if anyone has the piece of exhaust that bolts to the exhaust manifold let me know b/c he needs it. the bolt pattern on his exhaust doesnt match the exhaust manifold from the h22.

Re: H22 swap help!!
The H22A is a P13, while the H23 is a P14. Here is a usefull link to Honda ECU codes: http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_ecu_codes.html
It may run with the P14, but would it run well? I'm also in the process of doing an H22 swap, kind of a learn as you go deal.

no his car was not wired for vtec. you need a p13 ecu and ad the wires into the harness for vtec. we can do it at my shop if you would like. give me a call. 317-4760 Redline Customs
