I dont know if the ecu is chipped I bought it liked that and I have not tried opening it to see if it was. Also what I mean its not doing what its supposed to is it dosent feel like it pulls as hard as it supposed to I ran it at the track and I ran a 15.7 on stock tires with the stock pump but I dont know what its supposed to run.
Ok. Well, first your ecu. It'd be a good idea to open it up and check and see if your ecu is socketed. If not, then you need to do one of two things. Either get it socketed and chip it with either hondata, uberdata, or chrome (or any similar program) or get ahold of a p13. Because unless that ecu is chipped and running a h22a base map, you're not going to be running optimally. You have a third option but its pricey, and thats going with a completely stand alone system like an AEM EMS (expensive). But my other question is, you bought the motor with that ecu? Where from and why did they give you a p72 and not a p13? That doesnt make sense.

But yes, you are right, your H is definently not running right. You should be hitting at the very least a mid to high 14. And thats even taking into consideration the possibilty of the driver being new to track racing.

My first step, if i were you, would be to take the car up to Autozone and get that code checked (or check it yourself, i highly recommend this method just so you can get to know how to do it and that way you could do it if your cel comes on in the future). And yes they can do obd1 ecu checks. All you have to do is tell them the year of the motor (or the car, the codes will be the same for either) and they can check it from there.

It would make diagnosing whats going on with your motor easier if you knew the codes its throwing. Dont get discouraged though, shit like this is all part of the game.

Oh and if i were you I would spend some time on h-t and do some researching. There is tons of info there on the h swap.

so to shorten everything, no ecu will run as good as a p13(on an h22), unless its chipped.

If either of you is in NOVA, you can by my house and try out my P13 in your car. It pulls very nicely in my car.

personally id go the p28 route. Either route you go...p13 or p28 you'll need to remap.

I have a p13 ECU, is there anything inside the ECU that will tell me what it is, besides the stickers on the outside cover?
