Ok Im getting ready to buy a complete Gsr swap. Im getting a pretty good deal on the motor because im getting it from a friend. Right now its in his Del Sol and I was driving it the other night and I noticed that it scraped when I put it into 5th gear. He told me it also scraps going into 4th at high Rpm. Is this a really big problem that needs to be fixed right away. Also does anybody know about how much its going to cost to fix it. Thanks for the help.

 

its the kinda thing that will become a problem in less than a year depending on how bad it is.....the fixing is either gonna be a rebuild kit which isnt bad if u can do it by yourself....but if u cant do it then its that or a new tranny.....mucho dinero

 

its going to cost over $400 any way you try to fix the problem. either rebuild or buy a new one.

 

thanks for the help guys. Also another question. The swap has a stage 1 clutch, but a stock flywheel. Whats a really good flywhel to go with.

hey if you have the tranny out of the car and off the motor bring it buy our shop (REV-TECH) we have a lot of b series tranny parts laying around and wont charge you to much to fix it sounds like its just a worn syncro or 2 as long as no gears are broken it will only cost about 200-250 to fix it.
