I got a 99 civic. If i purchase 95-98 GS-R motor. Will I pass inspection??? Or would i need a motor same year as my car model 99 or newer.

 

Nobody will probably know the difference, and VA doesn't have emissions testing, so don't worry about it. Smile and keep your mouth closed..

since when did va get rid of enissions...it is a requirement for plate renewal

 

Yeah in NOVA and other conties they have emissions but here in the 757 we don't have emissions YET. For EPA you have to have an engine same year or newer than your chassis and no emissions devices disconnected or removed, we have alot of illegal car's around here. Also you can get a $25000 fine for no cat or having a test pipe, WHOAH that would be alot of money!

 

Most shops won't even look at it funny, but it's not legal. If you get a 00 just realize that the ecu will NOT work and the ecu for a 99 won't plug in (99 teg is still obd2a).
