Default LS internals in a mini-me???

had a chat with the guy from performance unlimited and was told with slight modification LS connecting rods would fit the 1.6 sohc pistons and would help keep the mini-me from blowing up after a month. anyone done this or know if its possible. and if so anyone got some stock LS internales lying around

modifying the rods would probably in turn reduce their tensile strength. id spend a little more and get some nice forged ones. not sure about your question though. sounds neat

he said the modification is just because the LS rods are slightly longer than the rods in the 1.6 and theyd need to be shaved slightly in order to fit, but they are supposed to make the bottom end much stronger

Yeah go to honda-tech and ask. I believe its the LS internals out of a older teg(the one that came with the ZC motor). You can also use the piston out of the same car to give you a kick ass compression ratio.

the internals out of a zc are the same as out of the crx si... therefor swapping them in wouldnt help. from what i got talking to a friend earlier the LS rods are 3mm longer than the 1.6 rods, so it shouldnt be too big of a modification needed to get them to fit

did you read the stuff about the pistons out of the 89 teg? also the rods are stronger than stock and, even with shot peening, they'll be cheaper than aftermarket.
