ok my car is supposed to get somewhere around 34 mpg...but it doesn't i filled up like 3 or 4 days ago and its at half a tank...but then i have put like 70-100 miles on it but still it shouldn't be at half yet...i need better mileage...clean the fuel injectors or new sensor?

 

reason i dunno how much i have put on there is coz my speedometer head disengages when it gets too hot coz i had a faulty speed sensor on my car...but yeah ill have that fixed as soon as i can get ahold of an instrument cluster

 

man you're confusing.
hint: if you drive it hard, you won't get 34 mpg.

try using punctuation other than periods, they work just as well. ;]

 

Also check your electrical (spark plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor) those can affect gas mileage too.....and definitely get your speedo problem fixed.

 

what RPM do you shift at?

 

another small factor might be your air filter.

 

ok rpm shifting- i usually do it around 2500 unless i need to move fast to get into traffic more smoothly without causing an accident...at that point im between 4 and 5000 just on the first 2 gears

 

i also don't drive too hard, but yeah, i'll try everything and see if my mileage improves. thanks

 

AC and window usage also affect it.
