Why? I'm not flaming, I'd just like some elaboration because I was thinking about buying either a c5 or JDM ITR motor.

Don't get me wrong, the USDM & JDM b18c5 motors are a good platform but with the extra money you spend to get the swap over a b18c1 you could have made a stronger motor. Just my opinion though. The b18c5 is just too over glorified and the price tag shows it.

From what I've read the transmisson is worth the extra 1000 alone. I think I'll still go with the R motor cause I don't have the time or patience to piece-mill and build a comparable motor-tranny combo. BTW what transmisson do you run?

If you read the interview in the featured ride section on the home page it will tell you. But if you are too lazy to check it out I use a Y21. lol

all you buy type-r for is the head port n polished...im build a gsr right now...all jdm itr/ctr internals from the cams to the water pump, all switched, and a mugen head gasket...ill be runnin cr- 11.7 im estimating close to 190's whp with hondata s100..and for all the money im spending..I would still have to spend another 2500 to be slower

go with a h22 build it up and boost it. Mix matching motors is stupid.

Is that so. I had a mix matched motor and it put down 210 fwhp N/A and was not tuned.

my opinion

h22 = ass for handling / cool for str8line terror
type r motor = alot of money for a b18 that you'll end up wanting to build anyways
gsr motor = you can go turbo or all motor and be strong.
ls/vtec/turbo + built right = ha.....owning you daily

ok im just throwing in my .02 because i dont drive a honda and ive never worked on one, but this is what ive heard, you have to stuff an H22 in a hatch and to change certain parts you have to take the whole motor out, c5's are not good for boosting because of high compression, c1's ive never heard anything bad about them N/A or boosting

like i said im just tryin to help and this is what ive heard from more than a few people...i do not know from 1st hand experience...the only h22 ive worked on was in a 97 prelude not a hatchy
