EGR question?
i know the EGR messes with the exhausts but i dont know its function exactly but my question is can a car make a 15-16 hour drive with the EGR malfunctioning? the car is running perfectly fine but the check engine light is on and the code says the EGR malfunction. thanks for the help fellas.

Re: EGR question?
the EGR recirculates gas from the exhaust manifold back up to the intake manifold. it can help prevent some problems if youve got the car under a serious load (going up a steep hill) in a high gear (not so high RPMs.) i gutted the EGR on my car, no problems with it. but it will throw a check engine light on most OBDII cars like your accord. as long as the EGR valve is not stuck open, you should be fine. but it sounds like it is running fine so i doubt that is the case. the EGR is never active during full throttle by the way. hope everythings ok
