Anyone use one before? Are they worth it? Just trying to see if they really work. General comments welcome!

It's really pretty easy to make a VTEC controller that works, if all it has to do it activate VTEC. It's just an RPM activated switch with some bells and whistles, and a little flash. Are you trying to add VTEC to a car with a non-VTEC ECU? Post a link to the one you're talking about...

Why does it matter if he is boosted or not?

well for tuning purposes....adjusting for vtec engagement and the proper a/f ratios with the onset of boost would be a hinderance in my thinking. its too many variables to compensate for having boost and vtec kick in at like 3.5k rpms when you can just have vtec kick in later...and worry about how that would affect the ratios with boost already in. just lowering vtec wouldnt be the best route for getting the most power down low for a boosted application.

but then again...i dont know what hes trying to do. thats why i asked him why he wanted to lower his vtec....

what a shitter, if you drop your vtec engagement, youll have to get a fuel controller anyways to compensate because the base fuel map is set for what its at. so, lowering your vtec point will cause it to run lean, which is bad

Ok, look, im running 6psi and will soon have the AFC hack for my fuel management. I dont know how the VTEC engagement will affect the a/f ratio. I just want more HP @ a lower RPM.

dont worry about the vtec xover. you want to work on getting ur turbo to spool quicker. so..get a much bigger dp, and great spark plugs. also...work on tuning ur a/f.

or...get FI cams.
