They also had eproms for 1g cars. Basically it is an ecu that can be chipped. It was installed by mitsubishi in the first year or two of each generation so that if they had to they could pull the eprom and reprogram it to make any changes that might be necessary.
no, an EEPROM is reprogramable, an EPROM is not. it is burnable once. (the original one) EEPROM units are generally made to where the chip is soldered to the board....EPROMs are removable.
EEPROMS are generally found on 96 and newer cars, since OBDII communication was standard by then, making it easier for car manufacturers to to a reflash, instead of making a new chip (cheaper also)

Doesnt matter anymore I contact the ECU manufacturer and is not eprom or eeprom it is normal so I can not sell it for what I need to get for it. If anyone on here needs a turbo fwd DSM 1st gen ECU pm me a price and I will see what I can do.
