Does it even help???
I have a F22 accord and i am wondering, the nice sparkplug wires, and spark plugs ACTUALLY help you out any. i mean. as far as i can tell, i am still sending the same current through them. or does some magic wires give me more power.... if they do, what type do ya'll run with
Thanks
Thanks
spark plugs can sometime give you more power like the bosch 4+, or the iridiums. as for the plugs they don't really give you power gains. The plugs do help out alot with detenation and few other ignition problems. they do send the same current but have less resistance in the wires.
how does a +4 plug give more power? that's a bunch of hoooey!
no spark plug gives extra power! the tip material has nothing to do with power, just longevity and life expectancy! some wires(Nology, i think?) have that coil inline and that would technically amplify current sent by the stock coil. whatever. if you want more spark current, change the coil. BTW: Bosch plugs suck in japanese cars. NGK and Denso are the only way to go unless you wanna spend big bucks for HKS Silverstones or whatever those f-ing things are called.
oh yeah! i have done lots of work with verifying this info. i used a Vericom to measure any 'gains' that may or may not have been made. i also used a G-Tech pro to provide a second source of verification. i've tested Bosch plugs (all available), NGK, Denso, TorqueMasters, SplitFires, Champions, AutoLite, RapidFires, etc...

If your plugs and ignition stuff is old, then yeah, new stuff will make a difference. NGK's rock. Nology wires will give you a few hp (I have verified this on the dyno), but they deteriorate quickly and suck after they do, so I wouldnt recomend them.

one can achieve a more efficient burn by indexing. there is such things as too much ignition also. it causes things in the combustion chamber to melt. it's sort of the reason some (many)people have moved away from Split Fire plugs. the other thing about using German plugs in a Japanese car or an American plug in a Korean car is that the heat ranges aren't necessarily the same across-the-board. yes, there are 'acceptable' tolerances, but close and no cigar. one doesn't notice more power per se by using one of these 'special' plugs. the 'increase' appears in the form of on-throttle response and idle characteristics.
