distributor: rotor, screw is not sitting flush, taps plastic surrounding?

distributor: rotor, screw is not sitting flush, taps plastic surrounding?
im changing out the rotor, and the screw is not sitting flush. how big of a deal is this? should i exhange for another one or sand it down so that it doesnt tap the plastic surrounding when it rotates; it taps it once every turn.
