d16z6 into 93 dx
I have a d16z6 head and block I just picked up, it has a new timing belt water pump and head gasket installed. My stock d15 blew a head gasket and has lost compression in cylinder 3 (cracked block?). My question is can I hook up the z6 to all of the accesories from the dx for now (intake and exhaust, distributor, etc) and then later hook up the v-tec and get a p28 ecu? Will the engine run okay with my stock ecu? Do the mounts match up from the d15 to the z6?
Yes sir, you can just drop the Z6 in without a problem, it's still D-series. Wiring up VTEC and the ecu isn't a problem really. If you wanna be ghetto about it for a while, when your getting on it, you can install a switch for vtec, giving the switch power to the vtec solenoid so you can activate VTEC without the ECU. I did it for a lil bit, just make sure to flip the switch off after your done getting on it.

Either or. Honestly man, Use the Z6 intake manifold. IT is better than the D15 intake mani!
d16z6 uses a 4 wire o2 sensor, your dx does not. The fuel maps for the d16z6 are different than you dx. If it runs it will not run well. The VTEC stuff won't matter unless you are running high RPM's, then it will fall on its face if not hooked up.
