D15b2 SOHC VTEC Questions
Hey guys I have a few questions.
The CRX I am buying has a d15b2 SOHC VTEC motor in it, and well I just want to know a few things; wats the redline? whens the vtec hit? wats the HP rating and wat is the TQ rating, and wat displacement.
AND also wat motor did the 1989 CRX Si come with? a 1.6 l or 1.5?

Re: D15b2 SOHC VTEC Questions
Just throw a different engine in, a SOHC 1.5L isn't good for much except corner weighting tarps in high winds.
Also, that engine doesn't have a VTEC head, unless someone put one on there.. The Si CRXs have a D16A6, non VTEC engine.

what he said ^^ b2 is not vtec its a 16 Valve SOHC 1493cc 9.2:1 c.r PGM-FI DPFI and it has 92 bhp @6000 and your tq is 89 lbft @ 4500 and it redlines at 6800 rpm.

Re: D15b2 SOHC VTEC Questions
you are talking about the d15.. not the d15b. the d15 b is a stock eg cx motor. The d15 is a strong motor I had one in a crx and it moved pretty good. Good luck, go with dohc.

Mike....
It's got a VTEC head alright. But however, it is still dual point, non vtec ecu, not enough fuel supply for vtec, what you need to do is....convert to multi port fuel injection. and buy a vtec obd-0 ecu.
