yes u have to cut the legs to get the bolt right, and also to set the timing.

Keep the y7 dizzy and swap on the obd1 plug. That way you won't need to cut any legs. Just match the wire colors.

i dont have the y7 dizzy, do you think one from a d16z6 obd1 vtech would work?

it will not mount properly without modification. Personally I hate cutting stuff like that, I would just get the right distributor and make it a cleaner installation...

yeah the vtec distrib would work... i think.

cutting the leg off does look pretty half ass. but hey it works {sorta} and its cheap.

not sure if the z6 distrib fits that motor correctly though.. and if it doesnt the one for it prob wont work at all, not at least without some wiring conversion.

swaped it in tonight, every thing including the old distributor bolted right up, was able to put all three bolts in and everything.

I tried to put a y8 distributor on a z6 head once and it definately did not work out at all...

I tried putting my si dizzy on a z6 head and it didn't line up right, but on a y8 head it did....hmm.

what kind of si? the si hatch comes with a z6.
