The highest horsepower NA sohc I have seen is at 192whp...

Also, if you are going to build an NA motor why use vitaras? They will lower your compression ratio to about 8.5:1...

I would suggest taking a d16z6, swapping in some pm7 or p29 pistons, and run a d16y8 head. This will bump your compression ratio to around 13.5:1, then run ITB's and you are set if you always want to run at least 100 octane...

No, that is bullshit. I have a d15b7 bottom end, and those fuckers see 7500 rpm's from me daily, and that fucker is perfect.

IF you stay NA with it, don't get a DC Sport Header, to maximize gains from the d motor, you will need a Bisimoto header or the like. They make nice gains, but have a nice price.

Also, if you stay NA, get the head ported and polished, a Crower Stg3 cam/springs/retainers, an adjustable cam gear for tuning.

The block is up to you, I agree getting the pm7's or p29's in the z6 block will be nice.

Your build, get on d-series.org and look around.

well i might pick up a dohc zc that needs pistons, any recommendations on pistons and rods,i might boost around winter time so i dont want crazy high compression sort of stock compression but more reliable at high rpms and speeds than stock

any ideas on pistons for a dohc zc,right now i have a spare z6 block and d15b but im not sure how well vtec pistons will respond to a non vtec motor(if there would be a problem with valve clearance or anything)

Check out bisimoto on Honda-tech. I'm quite sure he has made more power than that.

I have personally ridden in a gutted crx hf with a 158 whp d16z6 and it was amazing. Dont let anyone talk you out of building one, be different. sohchonda.com and d-series.org are the 2 most helpful links, and i suggest if you have a H-Tech s/n pm bisimoto with any questions you have. He is a super-friendly guy he now has a 9 sec all motor sohc.
