thats more than the S13 setup. i dont want more topend than what i had. i want less. I want to keep the low end i have and shift that drop in power to about 6,000rpm. i think adding the S13 exhaust cam and keeping the S14 intake cam will do that for me.

Shit I was editing while you posted. That's what cracks me up, when you say you are going to do something, you jump right on it.

that might do it, that would be 232/248. try the s14 intake cam and the s13 intake cam too. that would be a 232/240 combo.

When you start porting your head and removing material, you are going to be affecting the low end power?

Yes when you port you loose bottom end. Thats why you don't want to port Motorcycle heads. They are so large stock they are over ported and you loose power. It happens all the time. People will take a head to these professionals and don't listen to them. They pros say ok we will do what you want. What happens. Loss of low end.

I've been thinking about this all day, and I'm still probably wrong. But here goes. To keep the low end the same you would keep the exhaust cam the same. So maybe you should try s13 intake cam/s14 exhaust cam (240/232) and s13 exhaust cam rotated four teeth as an intake cam/s14 exhaust cam (248/232). My head hurts.

so i dont have to repin? hmm

well i did the exhaust cam this morning. Full boost was raised 50-100rpm but the setup doesnt loose power up top like it used to. I dont think ill do anything with the intake cam since i want to keep the low lift velocity high to fill the chamber at low rpm. if i do the intake cam that robs the low end velocity of the incoming air, thus torque drops. If i could get a little more pull up top without affecting bottom i'd really like it. I may setup the TEC II to control the boost and raise boost above the set boost at like 5500 and again at 6000. kinda like a nissan vtec HAHAHAHAHHA. i have the car set at 5 and i really like it, but up in 3rd and 4th gear i need a little more so i may do that with the tec II boost control. hmmmmm might go fiddle with that some.

dude, you should see all the differences in the S14 ka's. 95-96 have 6 cam towers 97-98 have 5 cam towers. The end of the cam in this motor just hangs out with no tower to clamp it. its not even in the mold of the head.

also the color coding was different. Every s13/s14 motor ive seen to this point the green cam was the intake cam and the red/orange cam was the exhaust cam. well not on this 97-98 motor. the red/orange was intake and green was exhaust. so now i have two red/orange cams in there. i had to compare my 96 cams to my 98's to know i was right. its stupid. i think i'm gonna throw away the 97-98 cams so i dont ever get confused should i have some jose while i'm working on the car
