B20 sleeves are thinner than other b series blocks because it is essentially just bored over. Sleeving the block from the start is a good idea but not needed, its just an added security precaution so you wont have to worry about cracking a sleeve one day. Yes you can still run high comp. pistons with an unsleeved block BUT I wouldn’t go around rev happy. Even a bone stock block will hold up as long as you’re not being an idiot. I myself ran 11.1 pistons in my unsleeved block for a year with no problems whatsoever. I also had a ported head with cams, springs, retainers. I was making 217whp/ 158 tq on hondata running 12's all day in a full body integra. I could go on for days but I had a long night..Let me know if you have any further questions, I’ll be more then happy to assist you

you must have much more then what you listed to make those numbers. I was wondering what setup was. Tranny, bottem end build, suspension ect. and 3rd, no top end power...what? Im not going to agree with you on that one either. Anyone remember the 160mph run? I think you might want to do some research.

damn george get im... oh this is the buddy the crx was georges.
b20 vtec is a beast and if its going in a crx it will haul ...
jack the comp and through in some great cams and u will be fine. i think george was making 232hp and 175ish torque in his set up 12:1 je pistons ,rods ,and a balanced bottom end. jun cams stage three all jun valvetrain and a type r head . all george had was a block gaurd other than that stock sleeves were functional.oh and plenty of topend 160mph and its on tape !!!for the disbelivers.

Sorry my engine build was kind of vague, I listed the jist of my setup not details. I was running stock bore JE pistons 11.1 compression, With a fully worked b16 head, Skunk2 gears, stage 2 cams, springs, retainers, valves, P&P, 5 angle valve job, IM, Port matched TB, RC 550's, Walboro 255,
Full 2.65in exhaust, toda header. I was also running a ctr tranny .If you think this setup fully tuned could not pull 12's and 217whp/158 you must be smoking crack.
Also nowhere in my post did I mention my setup had no top end power. I specifically stated the b20vtec has plenty low end power and DOES NOT sacrifice top end.
Thank you.

Re: !cr-vtec!
All this talk about 2.0's makes me want to drop my new motor in now. But alas, I must wait until the new baby comes. So this will end up a winter project...damn.
