ok i have 90 integ and the battery light is coming on and going off i assume there is a problem with the battery or the alternator but i have never heard of the light going off and on i mean at one point the light was on and my dash dimmed and my wipers were moving slow, i thought for sure it was gonna go out on me but then all of a sudden everything lightes back up and its fine....?


#2 i am looking at a 97 eclipse gst i heard some bad things about the trannies but i have never owned one or anything and i am interested to know if i get it will i be buying a new tranny a few months down the road?

 

the teg: check your alt ground
the gst: the gsx trannys (awd) are the one that blow all of the time

 

Integra: Measure the voltage on the battery both when the car is running (~14v) and when the car is not running (~12v). Check the battery cables, alternator cables, and engine grounds.
... you don't by any chance have amps/subs pulling a good amount of power do you?

 

Ah my car does that stupid ass "I decide, I want to pop the battery light on" when I get up on it like after 10 seconds of speeding it will pop up. I'm pretty sure it's my ground, at least I hope it is!

 

happens with my car as well. previous owner informed me it was a bad diode. its dim when the headlights are on, and lights up when brake lights go on. haven't had the chance to replace.

 

i had advanced test every thing they said the alternator wasnt putting any power but if i was running strickley off battery my car would die really quick but it doesnt???? and when the light is on i am worried i will end up stranded but in the middle of driving it goes off and everything is ok???? i am getting the alternator replaced and hopefully thats it!!!

 

Advance.......stupid ppl..they guess at your parts. Hopefully it is just your alt going bad.

 

When that happened to my brothers integra it was his alternator dying out on him.

 

i had a celica that did that and within a few months, the alternator went out. drove it down to the beach and it was fine but as soon as i got back, damn thing just went out. could be sticking and only working when it wants to. i would bet the alternator.
