Default Clutch/ Tranny Question

Hey guys I am pretty sure that I know what this is. But I would like to get some knowledge from some more exp. honda guys. Thanks in advanced

Anyway,

Car: 93 Honda Del Sol S

Problem: Cluctch is sticking to the floor, but fully engauges just letting the clutch up slightly. The rest of the clutch pedal just comes up freely. Also, the actual shifter is very hard to put into gear, but still goes in.

My thoughts: My clutch is bad or the "clutch master slave cylinder" is going bad.

Any input on the problem would be great.

Thanks again.

Beings your pedal is sticking to the floor, I would look at the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder.

I went and took a look under the hood, and on the right side of the engine bay, where the two "bottles" that are for putting brake fluid in are it. Well the smaller one on the left is basically empty. It says to put DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid in it. Would that empty fluid bottle be the reason my car is having these problems?

Ill be putting up some pics to make it easier to understand in a few minutes.

Yes. Keep in mind though, if the reservoir is completely empty, there's a possiblity air has entered the system.

Gah, how would I filter the air out of this system?

There is a valve (similar to the one on your brake calipers) on the slave cylinder (located above the tranny housing). Bleed the clutch line like you would bleed a brake line. This is a 2 man job.

If there is still a little bit of fluid on the bottom of the res, then there is a good chance air didn't enter the system.

AWESOME!, because there is still a little bit in the bottom!! Might turn out as easy as picking up brake fluid!

While you're at it... i'd take a look at the little rubber piece that's on the slave cylinder, if that goes bad, fluid will leak out constantly and cause air to get in your system, you might have a leak, all that fluid had to go somewhere... just glance at both the master and slave cylinders and see if they're wet..
