check enging light came on last night... but before it came on i had used some throtle body cleaner...everything was cool for the first hour or so... then it popped on.....and when i would cut it off and restart it , it would stay off for about 15 min.. now this morning i started it up and it stays on all the time..and when i give it gas ,,, the car falls on its face....any ideas? thanks

 

see what code is stored in the ecu

 

You might have destroyed your MAP or TPS sensor with the solvent. What CEL is it displaying?

 

yeah thats what im thinking.... how do i check the CEL ?

 

got the car running... took it out and vtec is not kicking in...wtf ?

 

pull your passanger sider carpet back under the dash and your ecu is there. If you are still using an obd0 ecu, you will see a red light flashing. Count the flashes. short flashes are one longer flashes at 10

 

yea i have the same thing but i still dont know what it is but my car runs good my vtec is good if u find out help me out....but i just took out the light...LOL

 

took out what light? The light is inside your ecu, if your still OBD0.

 

ok here is the deal...i checked the ecu for the flashes and got 6 short flashes then 7 short flashes... is that 67 or two codes 6 and 7 ?
