Car shakes when braking - What is it?
Two thirds of the time when I put on the brakes, the car starts to shake, along with the steering wheel. Almost feels like the car is going to fall apart. Every once in a while, when braking a little harder or at high speeds, I can hear a clanking noise. Other times, when pressing the brakes, it's a smooth reaction and the car brakes fine.
I have a feeling my ABS is messed up? I'm not quite sure, anyone know of anything?

Re: Car shakes when braking - What is it?
Yeah most likely. I got the car from my aunt which has been sitting in her garage for the past year and a half. I had engine problems also, but got most of that taken care of already. Do you know how much it would approx. cost if I got that done? Resurfacing/replacing front rotors? I'm not that technically inclined.

It depends on what shope you go to and what kind of vehicle. If you just resurface the rotors, your looking around $20 per rotor. I know pep-boys charges $10 a rotor but I believe that's if its off the vehicle. Not 100 % sure. Replacing the rotors and pads is obviously more. Most shops have good brake packages going on usually around 100-120 bucks for both sides depending on the vehicle.
