if the fuel pressure is reading zero then your pump is either to weak to get the fuel to the engine or you have some trash in your fuel filter . should be around 30 psi if i remember correct. . change fuel filter first and then check your pressure again before replacing fuel pump. im taking it that this car has injectors could be those as well. harbour freight has a fuel pump /injector pressure kit tester if you need one around 10.00 got one not to long ago .

many times when people run out of gas the gauge may read half way because the float can get stuck fairly easy.

also how do you know the fuel pump is coming on?

funny the other guy on hear has a similar prob. I'm gonna go with the good old main relay on this one too. while youre trying to start to car tap on your relay should start right up, I cant tell you how many times that has happend to me
