If i give a shop a lift and duration is that all they need for a cam grind if there is no change in cam centerline or is there more to it than that.
Reason is i have the specs on a cam that i want, but i dont want to pay the price or shipping and it would be easier to just have the place i have do my engine build to get the regrind done....just less hassle.

WAY more to it that that. Lift and duration only scrape the tip of the iceberg.

alright then ill rephrase.
Can a shop with just a lift and duration take a cam and regrind it to get simular or near the results of this other guy?
Here is the info I have.....
Stock Cam
03 cams spec: 0.338" lift, 196deg@0.050"
His Cam
0.353" lift, 208.6deg@0.050" for intake and exhaust cams
I guess ill have to break down and mail the bastards off....oh well
THanks for the read though its very nice

... did you just say you cant? you meant CAN right???
You dnot add materal, but in a regrind you can make the lobe act as it has more lift... not like getting a blank ground to a higher lift.. but still if you get the cemetry in the valve train you can regrind to a higher lift...

with the specs, they will not make a cam similar to the one you want.
if i said my car is 48" tall and 13' long, and you know a crx is 48" tall and 13' long, that does not mean I have a crx.

The only think about regrinds, is they take material off the bottom of the lobe to make the lobe have more of a lift to it.. so you have to set your whole valve train up for that... I think just calling a cam place and getting a blank custom done would be better
