Default broke a valve cover bolt

got a d16y7

i was putting my valve cover back on and snapped a bolt. i had just started to tighten it and had almost no force on it so i don't know why it borke. i cant get it out without messing up the threads. what do i do? tried drilling it out but the bit slides over to the side. i also tried to put a small flat blad screw driver in and loosening it. didnt help. please help me. if it helps, it's one of the short bolts in the front and to the left if looking at the motor from the front of the car. thanks in advance.

Thats unfortunate. I've done that in the past and its a bitch to get out. When it happened to me I had to drill it and use an extractor. Usually when i tighten them I use a 1/4 ratchet and hold it at the head so i get as little torque as possible on the bolt. They dont need much.
