I say in the trunk...cheaper...oh yeah...if you plan on running it at the track you need it in a sealed box w/ an external cut off switch saying "ON" and "OFF". they will give you crap about it if you don't.

easiest way right here.....13 ft of 4 gauge wire...put that in the clamp under the hood and put electirlca tape aroudn that....keep thats ground from the tranny and put that to anytign metal u can find. run the wire to the trunk and hook itup iwth another ground going under the spare tire. now everythign is fine. if u go to the track and they are beign dicks then put the batter back under the hood and take all that tape off and hook it back up under the hood

Ground it in the hatch, underneath the spare tire well is ideal.. Make sure you're using a sealed battery as well..

Here's an excerpt on battery relocation from another CRXer....

"There are a few reasons why the battery should be relocated back to the hatch area in the CRX. First, it helps distribute the weight more evenly if placed in the back right hand side of the car. This helps offset the weight of the driver so the car is more nuetrally balanced. Second, it opens up the engine bay for applications such as turbochargers. The following are a few ideas on how to properly relocate the battery.

The battery needs to be placed inside a battery case, prefferably a marine battery case. Two reasons, first the battery may leak and the case will help contain any corrosive material from eating away the hatch area. Second, the case helps insulate the battery from rapid heat changes and also to protect it from moving around and being damaged. Cases are also available with vent tubes so that batteries that do release gas can be used safely. If you plan to race your CRX, be sure to check your the safety codes, because many require the battery case to be metal, not polyurethane. It's also possible that an external cut off switch is needed to pass safety regulations. This switch will cut off the current from the battery in an emergency.

When relocating your battery, it's also a good idea to have your battery replaced with a sealed, zero maintenance, more powerful battery. Normal batteries may give off dangerous gases in certain situations which would be vented in the passenger compartment because their is not a seperate CRX trunk area. It would also be advantageous to get a more powerful battery because the distance the current must flow to the engine starter is increased significantly."
