yup. the VTEC motors are built from the factory so much stronger, and have a much better R/S ratio. for a small displacement 4 cyl, you have to be able to rev the fuck out of it to really make gods of power. the ONLY reason i would go LS is if i was definitely going turbo. if i was going to go all motor, the LS wouldn't even be a choice. b16 has better gearing, more all motor aftermarket, is a stronger motor overall....

I don't know way most people suggest going ls turbo vs a stock B16A turbo. yeah a ls can handle more boost duh cause compression is like boost. Of course you cant' safely run 14 psi on a B16A like a B18B/A. However, I would rather take a B16a at 9 psi than a Ls at 14psi. cause basically they will make about the same power. I dunno, I like it better when boost and Vtec hit the same time. Go this way dude. Ask yourself first what is your goal and then decide. If 400+ whp is your goal then decide what motor you want. I will definitely post my numbers up soon once I dyno and get tuned. Then my motor and car is up for sale. Later

cliff notes:

B16 for NA
B18 for turbo

there is no reason to switch either of those.
