Exclamation B18b or B16a2

Im looking to find out which would be the best of the two engines with either going all motor or turbo. If someone could fill me in id appreciate it. I would like to know the pros and cons of Boostin a 16 and 18 and the pros and cons of all motor 16 or 18.

Thanks

stock for stock the b16 is a much more advanced and more powerful motor than the b18b,most people try and dogg on it cause it makes shit for torque, but its a great motor, vtec all motor setups are more common than non vtec motors because of the higher compression ran in the stock motors and vtec function is able to create more power especially with aftermarket cams and such, now turbocharging is a little different, the b16 can make lots of power, but the ls can handle more boost, its a trade off if you go the turbo route, more boost usually creates more power, ive personally ran 14 psi on a stock ls motor and made descent power, most of the vtec motors are usually running around 5-8, but the vtec function makes up for the power loss of less boost, one more thing is that vtec shit is so god damn expensive, especially if you plan on building a real nice all motor setup,im talking aftermarket everything, vtec parts are alot more than non vtec, but its all to make good power, you really just have to ask yourself, how much power do you want to make, and you have to decide if you want turbo or not that decision is yours, reliability is one reason i took my turbo kit off....

Ok if I had to choose. Here is the order of preference for me IF I WAS ON A BUDGET:

1. Ls turbo
2. B16 turbo
3. B16 all motor
4. B18b all motor

This for the money I think would produce the most power. There is also the Ls/vtec route. Too many damn variables. I think its just your preference. Again this is my opinion if you disagree thats cool.

I think everyone here has pretty much summed it up; especially More Impatient. That was awesome info. Me personally i am trying to build an all motor LS, reliability is a big issue these days. To turbocharge a car the "correct" way you should probably look at spending a little over 3G's. (correct me if I'm wrong anyone) But I think an all motor LS is the better choice simply because of it's larger displacement then even the GSR.

i guarantee you make at least 30-40 hp less with an n/a ls than with an all motor gsr, vtec is where its at for all motor cars.........
