AFTERMARKET FUEL SENDERS TO WORK WITH 240SX GAUGE CLUSTER??
well im going to do a fuel cell and was wondering how i could keep my factory gas gauge.
hopefully someone has some knowledge on this subject.
or if i have to i will use aftermarket gas gauge...w/e will work.

You have to have some way of calibrating the gauge, or else it won't read correctly. Think of it this way: The sending unit only cares what the level of fuel in the tank is, but if the fuel tank is not symmetrical from top to bottom, it's not going to be accurate. So for example if your sending unit and gauge are calibrated for a tank shaped like a cube, and your new tank is a pyramid, you aren't going to have any idea how much fuel you actually have left because the change in fuel volume isn't the linear with the change in fuel level. Also, if the new tank is taller or shorter, the sending unit won't have the same travel as it needs to be accurate according to the stock calibration.

yeah im still researching whos done what...idk maybe i wont be able to get my factory gauge to work. thanks for your help...i was hoping you would post
