99 accord cuts off at low idle

99 accord cuts off at low idle
the car had a dead battery so the battery was replaced, now when the car is at a low idle and it is in drive/park it will cut off. this only happens when the car is warm any ideas on what this could be?

they (friends car) tell me they pulled the negative batt cable off to see if the car would run from just the alt, and it did. plus if you have a strong battery the car should run for a little while.
its wierd to me that it only happnes when its warm at a low idle.
