89 hatch w/ls swap problem

i have an 89 hatch with an ls swap in it. the car runs and sounds nice but it wont rev past 3500 rpms. it starts to stutter. it has no exhaust, its header out and it kinda sound like a popping sound. im stumped, please help me out.... thanks

Does it have a MAF?

If so check to make sure it's connected correctly.

Honda's dont use MAf, only MAP.. it could be that tho I guess.

Either a bad dizzy, or you dizzy wiring is wrong. Happened twice to me. first time doing MPFI conversion and the crank angle was wired right, and once on my b16 when the dizzy went out. where is va beach are you?
