Yep. You'll need all or part of a new driveshaft, and all or part of some new axles. Sometimes only a section of axle or driveshaft is needed and the rest can be saved. I was looking at that same diff unit (among others) for my WRX for a rear wheel drive conversion that may happen someday when I don't live in snow country..

Why dont you take a trip to the guy in chesapeake that sells nothing but z parts. He's kinda weird but hes cool, and if you are good at negotiating you can get all the parts you need for cheap.

East Coast Z. Owners name is Barry. He is right off of Bainbridge.

He tends to ask alot for his parts. Don't be scared. You can always get him to come down. And if you feel iffy about a price. Just tell him... "nah, I will check out another place".. and most of the time he will come back with a bottom dollar offer.

His bottom dollar offer tends to be around what they should be.

yea thats the place. When i used to own my z he gave me a lot of good deals. I even bought my mustang from him. 4 banger with 55k original miles for $200. Its easy to talk him down if you know what your doing. And like he said its not at all like pick and pull.

So they're just mods to buy some extra time before failure? Cryo treating is cool and all, but if the margin between breaking parts and not breaking parts is small enough to come down to cryo treating, you still need stronger parts. I'm not sure how it can be "guaranteed not to break", it's an OEM diff that's weak enough to break so fortifying weak OEM parts can only take it so far. Unbreakable with stock power maybe?

Edit: I found out the whole story. It's guaranteed not to fail due to broken bearing caps. That sounds a lot more reasonable. I like the mods that they're doing, but it seems like an awful lot of money to throw at a poor OEM diff design.
