Default 300zx factory alarm question

ok so i acquired this 93 300zx non turbo in a trade about two months ago. Ive put money into it here and there tune up and what not. The car runs great and i have no problems with it until tonight, i left my work i walked to my car dont remember if i had unlocked it or not ( i was talking on the phone while getting in my car) i open the door and the lights start flashing and the horn starts honking. I was extremely confused because in the last two months i never knew there was an alarm on it. Nor did the previous owner mention it when i got it. So i was wondering if anyone had any idea how to arm it i figured out that if you shut the door lock it and unlock it the alarm will stop but i'd like to know how i armed it in the first place. any info would be great thanks

the car arms itself after a few minutes of it being locked. Sometimes on them with age... have a tendency to not disarm when the key is turned the first time. Or if the window is down and you reach in and unlock it from the inside. If the driver door does not disarm it. The passenger side should..

an old school trick is to open the hood and tie the two hood pin wires together (alarm thinks that the hood is open).. good luck
