maybe you got lucky and got a 16g and not a 14b.
the 2g turbos are t25, smaller than the 1g turbos
1g turbos are 14b. a little bigger obviously than the t25. the 16g is the 'standard' upgrade for the 1g guys.
is the exhaust mani off the car?

did you pull the radiator fan? Its a bitch to get it in there with the fan still intact. Either way, a 14b or 16g will bolt right up to the 1g or 2g manifold

having the exhuast mani off makes it a whole lot easier. pull the radiator and fan out also like ThsPoq said. This will make geting the turbo and exhaust mani out and in easier. also i find it a lot easier to bolt the O2 housing back on to the turbo while the turbo is off the car. tryign to get extentions flexheads and torque on teh O2 bolts is a bitch when its in the car, whether you have a lift or not
