i swapped in my motor and couldn't get to run until i hooked up the tran. ground. it now idles at 3000rpm's and throwing cas. code the only way we could get it to start was to unhook the cas wires. then we hooked them back up, while the car was running. please tell me what i should do next?

What is cas, crank position? I don't understand.. Is it throwing any other codes? If it's the crank position, that can definately cause a huge problem. Without that, your ignition, injection, and lots of other stuff will not work correctly... It must be working off of the remaining postion sensor. If you're OBD0 you only have the crank angle and TDC sensor I believe, but that would enough enough to at least run badly, especially if one was broken. Have you tried another distributor?

Crank angle sensor won't make it idle any different. Try checking your iacv, throttle body and intake manifold gaskets, things of that nature.

 

It could be that the TPS has gone bad.
