me dx is fucked up. Every time I downshift and let the rpm's go down a little be my check engine light comes on and my car idle's real low. Is this a sensor or what???

When your check engine light comes on, look at your ECU and see what code it's flashing.. You have a 88-91, right?

pull the CEL(s) and tell us what they are and we can help you. until you do that, no one is going to be able to give you shit for an answer, rhyme or reason.
