okay i dont know shit about eclipse im a honda and bmw guy...So im looking at a 97 gst eclipse and its pretty cheap..only 1000 bucks..has 97k..Body is good and motor looks clean ...has a head gasket leak but not that bad at all..ac works car turns on...every thing works fine.. Okay now when i but in gear the car wont drive...at all...i can have it in gear and let go of the clutch and it wont drive..wtf..some help please...thanks

 

Well, now you know why it's $1000. Could be either problem. Usually transmission problems sound really bad, so I'm guessing it's probably the clutch, or someone has removed part of the tranny or the clutch and not put it back in, or the flywheel has been resurfaced improperly and isn't engaging the clutch disc.

Can't you get a straight story from someone about what happened to it?

its this old ladies car...she is rich as fuck ..and has like 5 cars...this one is just in her garage sitting there...she says she hastn driven it in like a year...and it only has 97k on it...

Most likely it's a clutch.

 

A lot of Eclipse had problems with the crank walking, might be that.
