i don't believe it is the clutch because i had that replaced this summer. thanks for the suggestion. anymore suggestions?

I had a problem like that befor and it ended up being the timing jumped. but there was so many things wrong with my old car that it could of been several other things combined though.

what do your spark plugs look like? are they fouled out or still in good shape?

chahonda looked at the plugs which are ngk and he said they were fine. he also took off the distributor cap and he said that looked fine as well.

you failed to mention that you have msd as well. but it does act like a break down of the ignition. are the spark plug wires new??? i cant remember, im getting old and cant remember much any more

they were used for 2 months or so before i put them in. They came with the zex package when i bought it.
