Another Rider down
He worked for the shipyard in dept X31. I have some associates that knew him. its a shame. while his speed probably played a significant factor in the fact that it was a fatality, the caddi driver is the reason for the crash. even at 45 mph he probably would have locked his tires up and layed the bike down ending up under the caddy
You only going to focus on track stuff now?
police damn well better file charges against the cadi driver. that's the most common motorcycle accident, someone making a left turn in front of a motorcycle who has the right of way. you know damn well if speed or any other reckless behavior was involved, then they would have hyped that already, but they didn't, at all, so my guess is the rider was completely not at fault. so sad to hear another rider losing his life b/c some cager wasn't paying attention.
r.i.p.
r.i.p.

It's sad that the City of Newport News probably won't do anything to the driver. I wonder if there is something that someone can do to have them reconsider their punishments for this...
Speed is always a factor.
I don't think I've ever seen a news report about someone on a sport bike getting hurt/killed that they didn't make sure to mention that speed could be a factor. Typical

Stereo-typical, on my bike, it was common for me to be going UNDER the speedlimit.
Oh yeah, I agree. It's bs that they're able to pull that shit time and time again.
The fucking fail to realize that a rider can be killed doing 30 mph. I gaurantee that rider wasn't going any faster than 45 or 50. If I'm not mistaking, the jefferson limit is 45.

NEWPORT NEWS
Police have identified a man killed in a crash Monday morning after his motorcycle collided with a Cadillac at Jefferson Avenue and Randolph Road. Eben L. Hoggard, 27, of Stonewall Terrace in Hampton, was headed south on Jefferson and was in the center lane when a Cadillac headed north on Jefferson made a left at Randolph, said Lou Thurston, police spokesman. The motorcycle hit the Cadillac sedan on the passenger side. Hoggard was pronounced dead later at a hospital, Thurston said. No one in the Cadillac was injured.
The driver of the Cadillac, Tremaine Knight, has been charged with a second offense of driving with a revoked driver's license and not having insurance, according to a police news release.
Investigators believe that Hoggard's speed played a role in the crash along with inattention on Knight's part, according to the release.
The crash shut down two of three southbound lanes of Jefferson Avenue for more than an hour during the Monday morning commute.
