Yah but if the threads on the back of the lug are worn out and it wont catch on the hub to stop it from freespinning then he is wont be able to ratchet it off, his rim will get messed up either way.

couple things...

1) its spelled break, not brake

2) the whole point is i'm obviously trying to break it off, so telling me to "just break it off" doesn't add anything

3) if you read the reply directly above yours you'd see i long ago solved the problem myself anyways making your otherwise completely useless post, useless times infinite

actually, that works fairly well if you have a steady hand. I used to use an air hammer with a chisel extension, and i'd notch the lug, then hit the notch at like a 60 degree angle and it would either shear off part of the lug, or smack it loose and spin it free. either way, you'd either spin the lug off or break it in half w/out damaging the rim....i'm not saying i didnt smack a few rims lol, but if you're careful and take your time you'll never fuck up your rim. i always ended up fucking up the rim when i was in a hurry or the customer was being a douche

thats what i did, and it worked perfect

except come to find out the lug is fine, or was fine, its the spline in the hub itself that got stripped allowing the whole thing to spin, so now i need a new hub
