97 civic (d16y8), cylinder 1+2 misfire??? wtf
no i didnt switch the wires, or ne thing liek that...
each wire is a ceartain legnth, and they only reach to one hole, so...you can rule out the dizzy wires, and what would i look for in the plugs, we know it misfireing but what would the plugs tell us?

true and no it didnt start b/c it wasnt gettin spark..your 2 cylinders may not be gettin the spark either...i would change the plugs and go to auto zone and just get the $30 wires and try that first and just double check the order you have the wires on the distributor just in case..
Alright Im at my shop now...and here is alldata's words of wisdom for code 71 ans 72.
Probably cause:
-Ignition System
-Fuel supply system
-Map sensor
-Egr
-IAC valve
-Bad or lack of fuel
-Fuel injector
-Fuel injector circuit
-Ignition system
-Low compression
-Valve clearance
Just for reference, valves should be adjusted when head temperature is less than 100 degrees F. Intake valves adjust between .18-.22mm(.007-.009 inch)
Exhaust valves between .23-.27mm(.009-.011 inch). If you want hit me with a PM and I can fax all of the alldata diagnostic charts to you for those specific codes. Hope this helps.

i mean it helps and then it dosent help...
i cant fix any of this bullshit
i mean, i have a spare dizzy so i guess ill try that, and i have a spare set of LS wires so illtry them too..
if that dosent work them fuck it..
it will be for sale 4500$ 100, xxx miles, red

the last time I threw code 72, one of the injector clips was slightly loose so apparently one cylinder wasnt getting consistent fuel. You may want to make sure all four are getting a good connection. One of mine were loose after doing a manifold swap, (#2 I think) but I was misfiring in cylinders 2 and 3.
also you might want to do a compression test, sometimes extremely low compression in 1 cylinder will cause this.

dorko, it could be all those things. the plugs may have been broken, fouled, maybe even the gap was changed, all these things u need to check before ruling em out. i dont kno hondas motors well, but check the spark plug wires, see if u might have messed up the metal contact inside the wire, IE ripped it out when takin the plugs out
