New Purchase "Toyobaru" Inside
Don't get me wrong, its the best handling car I've owned (which isn't saying much, but still). I've owned both a 2.0t and now a 3.8. The transmission issue that people complain about just takes getting used to. The 1st gen 2.0t was horribly under powered but they finally remedied that with the 271hp revision. The 3.8 has always been the way to go for out of the box performance. The 3.8 is very lively and feels very very smooth. I'm getting rid of it just because I want more doors for more whores.

I would love to get an frs but it's too rich for my blood. I'm actually eyeballing a 2 because I test drove a friends and it's just an exercise in momentum, and that's quite fun. Turns like a small dog, brakes are great, lighter than my current miata, and the mpg is awesome. Or I might go for broke and megasquirt the miata, who knows.
I can appreciate both (brz/frs) for what they are and really dig the whole rwd/built for track premise. After test driving an frs and seeing/riding in a br-z, the brz blows the frs out of the water in terms of quality, craftsmanship, materials, and features. I've never owned a Subaru and am no means a fanboy for them but facts are facts. Scion make cheap cars for a low price point and you pay for it when it comes to quality. Lets not kid ourselves, that was its intent from the start. Regardless, I still think both are bad ass and should be an absolute blast on the track! Have fun and congrats!
If you're going for used, go for a 2010/2011/2012. Stay away from the revised body in 2013s. Its tempting because they upped the power but I can't get over the hideous front of the new ones.

I'm in the market and I was just considering a used 3.8
