Nope, too early for reading. He could have been hammering in the wrong direction. It's not always lefty loosy with 2 locking perches. Plus, he never stated that he was hammering the screwdriver.

Stick a screw driver in the keyway of one of the sleeves. Hit the top one CCW and the bottom CW. Should knock anything loose.

Or loosten the screw if there is one.
