No offense to the jeep guys, but unless you NEED a/c or any other small "luxury" options I don't see why anyone would consider one.

(flame suit on)

I did not even notice you were in radford. Have you run bobcat yet?

Nah, I was just up there for my freshman year but I'm back in Chesapeake now. I bought my Samurai from someone in Roanoke with three weeks left in the school year and just kept it back in the 757 since I didn't want to get a parking permit.

But.... come September I'll be starting my soph. year and definitely plan on hitting up bobcat and showing up some wranglers

I'll have to remember you live up that way and hit some trails.

See thats the problem, you zuki guys make fun of Heeps all day long (I've met one guy that had a zuki and Jeep and was a good guy) but the others joke all day about Jeep this and Jeep that.

I actually like zuki's. They are the best bang for the buck 4wheel drive, unless you find an older Jeep YJ or CJ.

I've always wanted a Jeep since I could drive. It's bigger for me. I don't fit comfortably in a zuki. But I don't knock their owners also. Jeeps are def. a popular vehicle and can get a bad name for them because of the shitty drivers that try to 4wheel in them.

When it's time to throw some money into the Jeep with a long arm, locked, and some other stuff, I know it will be very capable for what I need it for.

Ok thats all, not all Jeep owners are mall riders and buy stuff cause they see it in a magazine.

I've known guys to buy $20k worth of stuff for their first Jeep only been 4wheelin a handle full of times and never use the rig for what it's made for.

Thats the same argument between every make.

The reason that jeeps probably get the worst of it is because of there name. My .02 cents. Unknowing jeep enthusiasts seem to think the the jeep is gods gift for wheeling. We all know of the kid that is just getting into the sport, decided he wants a jeep because of all the glorious things he has heard of them and thinks he is unstoppable once he gets one. Thats where a lot of it is derived from.

The jeepers are really in their own little world. What other make do you know of that likes to argue amongst themselves over what jeep is the "real" jeep? There has been huge debates between the jeeps with round headlights and the jeeps with square headlights. I do not know of any other make that is like that. From an outsiders perspective this only stimulates the cockiness of jeep owners.

I don't have a problem with jeep but I would never own one. I have a lot of respect for the work and craftsmanship that I have seen put into the rig no matter the make.

I have lot of friends that have built and wheel very nice jeeps and I do enjoy wheeling with them but they joke around with me on the toyota > jeep debate all the time.

So to end the discussion... here is how it is laid out.

Toyota > Suzuki > Nissan > Jeep

I'll agree with you on that. I started out in a 92 4runner. Was planning on taking out the weak 3.0 for a v8 and doing the sas in the front. But I had a great deal come along so I am went on to get a TJ.

Just this weekend a couple friends where camping. Two friends have beautiful Jeeps. One being a 05 Rubicon, lifted, winch, other stuff. The other friend had a 98 TJ 4cyl. These guys that they came across were from out of town and also had Jeeps. They Started joking on the 4cyl Jeep because it wasn't a ALMIGHTY RUBICON, or because it was a 4cyl.

They joked on him for having Skyjacker lift, black alloys, etc. This Jeep has a d44 out back, locked front and rear, 4.56 gears, 4in skyjacker lift, 2in body. They all went 4wheeling and the Rubicon got stock and so did these out of towners, while the little 4cyl went right through it.

But I do agree that most Jeep owners are douchebags as with any make and model.

My friends who have Jeeps, 4wheel to wheel. Not brag about a Jeep or joke on others. I use to surprise them with my stock 4runner and made it through spots a stock Rubicon couldn't.

You have to have a little skill and driving ability when 4wheelin.

I'll 4wheel anything with 4wd in it.
