i'm a member of dark-side offroad. which is exactly what your looking for. it's very laid back compared to Middle Peninsula Jeep Association Inc., Tidewater Four-Wheelers, and others. No dues, no president, no bull shit. Just alot of people with the same basic interests. If anyone is interestd we have coffee runs every sunday from 10-12 at the barnes and noble by patrick henry. (we are also currently in the process of having some of the people on the southside try and find another spot over there for the southside guys) everyone is invited. also check out www.dso4x4.com you'll find the forum you want there too.
