i think they measured mine at 38 or 39in at the low part on the frame, but i got 42s on my truck right now. i never drive it on the street unless i have to or i'm goin muddin somewhere local. its only a $90 ticket for altered suspension, which is what they give you for bein too high. you won't have any problems on a jeep dude, i wouldn't worry about it.

This is good information, geonfreak did some research. As for the altered suspension tickets they come from 46.2-1063 code of Va. 46.2-1063 covers all altered suspensions (to high and to low). If your gvwr is greater than 15,000 there is no height that would be to tall. The 30" and 31" for gvwr is for 7501-15,000. The frame heights only come into play if you have an after market bumper, which eliminates the drop bumper as the answer. As for the 14" being to low, it's measured to the bottom of the bumper, not the bottom of the plastic front lips.

maybe this helps

well I do have an aftermarket bumpber and when I got stopped the cop didn't even know what he was doing . . he meassured to the top of the bumper and was like oh it's 36 inchs and I was like WTF are you meassureing and I was like na that's not it . . you measure to the bottem . . and it's like 26 to the bottem of my bumper (at that time) and he was like this bumper had been droped (3 inch body lift also) . . .he's like you can see the z bracket . .I'm like uh no those are brackets that puts it in factory position . . so he measured the frame and came up with 32 and half but let me off on a warning . . . the truck was on 35's . . and is now on 44's . . . guess he might actually have a case to stop me now . .but I think it was a height complex because he stopped me for my lights not being covered (only like 11 offroad lights . lol) and when he came up to the window he couldn't see in cuz he was like 5 foot nothing . . .
