Default Legal issues?

So I'm thinking about selling my civic hatch and getting a jeep wrangler, but I don't like the stock look. I want to raise it up a little and get some bigger wheels and tires. One of the main reasons I want to sell my civic is because of some stuff on it is not totally legal and I'm thinking of becoming a state trooper so I'm gonna have to part with that. My question is, Can I lift it a jeep w/o having to worry about getting introuble or w/o it being illegal?

Thanks in advance!!

You shouldnt have too much to worry about man. I just lifted my truck this past weekend and a state inspector was in the shop also. I asked him about the laws and he said I am under leagal limit. I dont think you would lift you Jeep higher than my truck. The bottom of my front bumper if 26" from ground up and the center of my headlight is 4' from ground up. I was behind a cop a few nights ago and he had to move his mirror because my lights were blinding him. I just turned em off till we were moving again and he waved thank you

Oh and as for the state inspections he said they are not required to check for hight anymore. Dunno how accurate that is though.

Lift laws are a lot more leanient than most. Look around at how many lifted trucks you see that are way taller than the legal limit and usally nothing gets said to them. I think the limit is like 33" from the bottom of the rear bumper to the ground. Not sure though.

I know you'll definitely have more fun in the Jeep though

Ok... Ya i knew there were limits on how high stuff could be but then again isn't it like "altered suspension"... Like I could get a ticket for my civic being droped... Is that just a profiled thing? (Being an import car and such)
