Ford Ecu question
ok soooo i had a perfectly good donor truck. it was stripped and then thrown away.... stupid on my part but thats what happened. i now have a 95 5.8L and a E4od trans with the factory transfercase.... whatever it may be. my question is since i'm looking at putting it into a 91 body what ecu could i use to make it run properly. does anyone know of a code that i should look for? and also since the t-case is the push button 4x4, would it be better to try and run the switch or maybe find a donor truck to pull a manual t-case from. along with the ness. levers and linkages.

Re: Ford Ecu question
I've swapped a couple 5.0 trucks to 5.8s. Just get a ECU from any truck or bronco with the E4OD trans. Both the 5.0/5.8 trucks fire bank to bank and the sensors are the same. Does the 91 still have the ECU in it? They make stand alone controllers for the E4OD. The transfer case shouldnt run through the ECU. Either wire up a switch or go with a manual case. I've got a 4speed setup with manual t-case if your interested.

Re: Ford Ecu question
as the 91 sit's right now it has a 6cyl with a 95 6cyl. transmission. the ecu is still in the truck but does not tell the transmission when to down shift. i have a complete 95 motor/tranny/t-case i'd like to put into to it but i'm short the ecu. it does have the push button 4x4 however the truck used to be a 2wd... i know it sounds confusing but if i can figure it out with some help the truck would be pretty badass.
